Canyoning tours in Austria
In addition to an average physical condition, some courage and swimming skills, you only need to bring swimwear and a towel. You can get neoprene socks, a neoprene shirt, a thick neoprene overall with hood, helmet and belt from the Outdoorfriends. For gorges with very cold water, we can also offer you neoprene gloves.
Special canyoning shoes are available on our tours for advanced canyonauts at no extra charge. Participants in the Burggrabenklamm canyoning tour can decide whether they want to bring their own sneakers or trekking shoes, or pay € 7 for rental shoes.
To make it easier for you to choose the gorge, you will find detailed descriptions of our canyoning tours in the Canyoning menu. The canyoning guide decides whether you can jump or slide, depending on the situation; you can decide for yourself whether you want to jump or slide. There is always the possibility of avoiding steep steps, climbing or overcoming them by abseiling.
If you have never done a canyoning tour, we recommend the Burggrabenklamm or the Gimbbach. The Strubklamm is the right tour for sporty beginners who like to jump. If you already have canyoning experience, the Grabenbach or the Bruckgraben is a suitable challenge for you. In stable weather conditions, the Burggrabenklamm (minimum age 12 years) and the Gimbbach (minimum age 10 years) are also suitable for children.
